Yellow Point Cranberries

Yellow Point Cranberries aims for a holistic approach to farming cranberries in order to minimize the use of commercial pesticides and fertilizers. They buy recycled and recyclable materials for their farm produce processing and packaging facility. They support local farms, producers and industry. Cost effective transportation on and off the farm is used, which helps reduce fuel and emmissions. Around their cranberry fields they plant trees and native species and have numerous bird houses, bee boxes and raptor perches in order to enhance the population of native pollinators, birds and other wildlife. As well, they use electric motors on irrigation pumps instead of diesel engines to reduce direct emissions.
