Local Sustainable Food Systems

The Local and Sustainable Food Systems Network bands together associations across the nation to strengthen and enhance local and regional food systems (or "place-based" food systems).

International integration of food supply chains over the past half century has consequently resulted in the slashing of much of the infrastructure for place-based food systems. The Farming and fishing populations continue to fall, resulting in aging producers with little succession plans among those that are left.
