Ducks Unlimited Canada, or DUC, has been working on wetland Conservation for the past 75 years. They use research, public policy plans and educational policy to conserve and manage the wetlands.
Some of the ways that DUC is able to make a difference include habitat retention, which helps to secure the future of the wetland habitat for the long term; upland restoration, which gives waterfowl a place to nest in close proximity to the wetlands; and working with both the government and landowners to develop practices that benefit the Environment. As part of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, DUC is working with similar agencies in the United States and Mexico.
There are many ways that those who are interested in Environmental conservation can help. You can become a member, donate to DUC, volunteer at one of the sponsored events, attend an event or contribute artwork. You can also let your local schools know about the educational programs available for students.
